Shanghai Customs has announced that from January to May this year, the total import and export value of Shanghai reached 1.75 trillion yuan. In May alone, the import and export value was 360.28 billion yuan, a 3.6% increase, continuing a positive trend.
This year, Shanghai Customs has introduced and implemented the "2024 Special Action for Promoting Cross-border Trade Facilitation," comprising 36 measures to further enhance cross-border trade facilitation and support the stable and high-quality growth of foreign trade.
Shanghai Customs has actively innovated more facilitation measures, advancing nearly a hundred reform tasks and achieving significant results: over 70% of inspections at ports are conducted without accompaniment, the volume of "direct loading" and "direct delivery" operations increased by 16.2%; the paperless rate for filing cross-border e-commerce export overseas warehouse models reached 100%; the first implementation of the "two-in-one" certification for imported motor vehicles, the deepening application of smart inspection technology, and the innovation of supply chain security assessments have further shortened the overall import clearance time at Shanghai ports.
